The Guardian: Lay off men, Lessing tells feminists
Novelist Doris Lessing has claimed that men are the new silent victims in the sex war, continually being demeaned and insulted by women without a whimper of protest.
Well, as usual, I don’t think you can generalise, but there does seem to be a bit of truth to what she’s saying. Even advertising these days demeans men in a way that would cause an uproar if it was applied to women. And if men don’t protest, it’s because they’d immediately be branded as mysogynists or something akin to that.
There’s still lots of work to be done in this domain, I just wish there were no "sides" at all.
