I highly recommend reading this extremely good article on "Brusselisation" which is a term coined to represent the wild urban development that has ravaged Brussels since the fifties, creating complete architectural chaos and causing the sacrifice of magnificent buildings and heritage to the god of money and ugly tower blocks. I feel like crying sometimes when walking through certain streets of this city.
