Boston Globe: Ask clinics about fear
That New York Times piece prompted me to do a little searching on the planned parenthood angle. And, indeed, abortion clinic employees have been handling suspicious mail since long before Osama Bin Laden was on all the front pages:
Where, one wonders, is a similar vigilance to apprehend and prosecute those who aim not to amuse but to terrify women and their doctors, and to deny them their legal right to terminate an unwanted pregnancy?
"We have never had the benefit of the swift and sure action we are seeing now," said Feldt, who has been trying without success for five months to arrange a meeting with Ashcroft to discuss the violence directed at abortion clinics. This week, she called Tom Ridge to share with him the security protocols that Planned Parenthood was forced to develop on its own to protect itself from domestic terrorism. The director of Homeland Security might want to call her back; he might learn something.
The hypocrisy is unbelievable.
