New Scientist: Computer DJ uses biofeedback to pick tracks
This sounds like something straight out of Jeff Noon’s universe: A computerised DJ that uses biofeedback from the crowd to generate new music has been developed by the artificial intelligence lab at HP. Dancers wear wristbands that send information via bluetooth about their location, heart and perspiration rate, and how active they are.
As the "DJ" generates the music in realtime and doesn’t use ready-made tracks from a library, I imagine it probably outputs cheesy pseudo-trance though.
