First class Belgian tourism

This morning, after paying7 Euroseach for a return ticket, we installed ourselves comfortably in a first class carriage away from all the screaming kids, scouts and other noisy groups; and less than 2 hours later we were ambling along the Belgian seafront enjoying the fresh breeze, the sand and the sun for a day.

By 2030 climate change will have a radical impact on global tourism. A winter holiday to the Mediterranean and a summer holiday to Sweden could become the norm as tourists attempt to avoid extreme weather.

Uncomfortable Art Tours.

Art historian Alice Procter is on a mission to decolonise museums and galleries with her "Uncomfortable Art Tours". Interesting approach. I'd love to go on one of her tours if we can ever travel to the UK again. The British Museum is pretty much a giant fencing operation when you think about it.

Redu, Belgium and the slow death of paper books.

Redu is a village in the south of Belgium that's famous for its many bookshops. As physical book sales die, the village is dying alongside them. Some locals are trying new things though.
