one.point.zero 3.0
How about that for a twisted title? Take that all you web 2.0 (please don’t sue me Mr O’Reilly) people!
Anyway, as you’ve probably noticed unless you’re peering at this through the monotone lens of RSS, the site has changed once again.
I needed to get back to something simpler, closer to what one.point.zero originally was. I got distracted by multiple columns, flickr badges, del.icio.us link lists, b(l)ogrolls, antisocial networking and all that jazz. If I’d kept that up I probably would have ended up joining the “my footer is bigger than my blog” posse who’re surreptitiously taking over the network whilst chanting “embrace your bottom”. And let’s be honest here, there’s only one bottom I want to embrace and that’s my girlfriend’s.
The format is now closer to what’s referred to in hip circles as a tumblelog. A stream of consciousness or, in my case, a stream of complete and utter balderdash. In order not to get kicked out of said hip circles, everything is built with ruby on rails and running off lighttpd. The code is a slightly modified version of Ozimodo (not that mashup guy).
All the bits haven’t found their place yet but there’s enough to get rolling. Some details may look a little awkward in good old internet exploder and I haven’t gotten the typography to act as nicely on windows as on mac, but I’ll get there (start by activating cleartype if you haven’t already). The RSS feed won’t display certain types of posts, until I fix that why don’t you feedbeavers come and look at some html once in a while? We can change the colour of links and emulate the blink tag with javascript nowadays.
And, yes, the lack of comments is deliberate, it’s all part of that simplicity thing. If you have something interesting to say, email me. I’ll post it up if it catches my eye.
This post was fueled by a loud dose of Italo-Disco, please excuse the harefooted pace.
